So far this month the Jays are 8-6, which normally we wouldn't think of as bad, but we needed much better to have a shot at the playoffs. Our pitchers have put up a 3.30 ERA, our starters are 7-4 with a 3.23 ERA, very good. Our relievers are 1-2 with a 3.52 ERA and 4 saves.

Pitchers

R.A. Dickey

R.A. made 3 starts and got 3 wins. He had a 2.57 ERA over 21 innings. Batters hit .162/.241/.257 against him with 1 home run, 5 walks an 15 strikeouts. His best three game stretch of the season, he went 7 innings in each of the three games, the first time he has gone 7 three games in a row this year. He's got a 4 game win streak going. If he had pitched like this all season, we'd be fair happier right now.

Mark Buehrle

Mark made 3 starts, was 1-0. He had a 2.57 ERA in 21 innings. Batters hit .296/.318/.407 with 1 home runs, 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. .Pitching like he did at the start of the season. He's very likely to finish with his best ERA since 2005. 12 more innings till 200.

J.A. Happ

He had 2 starts, 0-2. 3.46 ERA in 13 innings. Batters hit .184/.245/.327 against him, with 1 home runs, 4 walks and 12 strikeouts. He went 7 innings and allowed just 2 hits in his last start and yet took the loss.

Drew Hutchison

In 3 starts, Drew was 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA. Batters hit .214/.263/.414 with 3 home runs, 5 walks and 27 strikeouts. Two of the starts were quality starts. It seems strange he could have an ERA of almost 5 when batters only hit .214 against him.

Marcus Stroman

Marcus made 3 starts, went 2-1, had a 3.00 ERA in 21 innings. Batters hit .247/.275/.299 against him, with 1 home run, 3 walks and 15 strikeouts. He had 2 very good starts and one that wasn't good.

Casey Janssen

Casey pitched in 4 games, had 3 saves, one blown save/loss. 8.10 ERA in 3.1 innings. Batters hit .375/.389/.375 with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. He had 3 good appearances and one really bad one. He's looking more like the Casey we are used to seeing out there.

Dustin McGowan

Dustin got into 4 games, 3 were scoreless, the other he game up a couple of runs, but he gave up baserunners in each of them. He had a 4.15 ERA, batters hit .278/.350/.500, with a home runs, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

Aaron Loup

Loup pitched in 6 games, 4.0 innings.  Had a 6.75 ERA and had 1 blown save.. He gave up runs in 2 of his appearances. Batters hit .333/.368/.500, 0 home runs, 0 walks and 3 strikeouts.

Brett Cecil

Brett pitched in 5 games, had a win and 3 holds. In 4.2 innings, he had a 0.00 ERA. Batters hit .200/.350/.200 with 4 walks and 8 strikeouts. He hasn't allowed an earned run since August 2nd,

Aaron Sanchez

Pitched in 5 games, had a hold and a save and a 0.00 ERA in 6 innings. Batters hit .100/.182/.100, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. He's been very good.

Blue_up_medium

Brandon Morrow

Brandon pitched in 4 games, he had a hold and a loss. 3 of the game went great, one didn't. He had a 2.45 ERA in 3.2 innings, batters hit .214/.267/.286, with 1 walk, 3 strikeouts. I'm glad to see him back pitching.

Arrow_around_3_medium

Todd Redmond

Todd pitched in just 2 games, 1.2 innings. He faced 7 batters, gave up 2 hits, a single and a homer run. Really not fair to judge a guy on two appearances, two weeks apart. He has been pretty much forgotten.

Arrow_around_3_medium

Daniel Norris

Daniel pitched in 3 games, had a hold. A total of 2.1 innings. He has faced 12 batters, allowed 3 hits, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts. That's a .333/.417/..333 ERA.
